MICHAEL holds degrees in theology and in chemistry. He has written
a book and a number of research papers on the interaction of theology with the natural sciences, and with the arts (particularly music). He was ordained in 1992, and has served
in England and as Associate Rector at St John's, Princes Street, Edinburgh, before joining TISEC in 2000. He is married to Sue, a University lecturer, and has two young children.
His hobbies include opera, and Russian literature.
JANE joined the staff in 2003. She served her curacy in Woodbridge,
Suffolk, before becoming the first female incumbent in the
Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, where she held a charge
in Ipswich, taking over the pilot LCM Parish in the Church of England.
Jane has taught Theology at St Michael and All Angels Theological College,
Llandaff, where she was Director of Pastoral Theology and Co-ordinator
of the BTh programme at Cardiff University, and Adviser on Women’s
Ministry. In 2004-05 Jane taught Practical Theology at the Queen’s
Foundation, Birmingham. She specialises in Practical Theology, Christian
Spirituality, and Disability Hermeneutics. She is a research Fellow with
the University of Aberdeen and is research-active in spirituality and autism,
child mental health and spirituality and in reassessing oversight from
the perspective of disability. Jane runs an ecumenical retreat space in
the Highlands.
Jane is married to Simon. She has three step-children, a foster-daughter and a son. In her spare time she writes poetry and novels, and paints.
DENISE has
been with TISEC for over 13 years and has, over that time,
been in contact with many tutors and students and visitors.
The bulk of Denise's job is
to format and prepare all of TISEC's teaching materials,
(no mean task), and dealing with all the day to day responsibilities
and hospitality. She is married to Jim, with 2 sons and 5
grandchildren. Hobbies include cross-stitch, music, knitting,
computing (especially desk top publishing), and her two
dogs.
