TISEC's IME provision is ecumenically shaped, and is intended to prepare students for accredited lay and ordained ministries within the Scottish Episcopal Church and the Methodist Church. The Courses are validated through the Churches' Validation Framework, administered by the Church of England's Ministry Division. Our 'Diploma in Theology for Ministry' Course is validated through the University of Wales, Bangor (UWB).

Helen Wareing is IME Liaison Officer for the Methodist Church in Scotland.

CURRICULUM DESIGN

Every-year Entry. IME provision has been designed in such a way as to allow students to begin studies every autumn.

Lay and Ordained. It is intended that students for ordained and lay ministries should train alongside each other: indeed, it is possible for students to undertake the Course with no definite ministry in mind. However, we do ask that a student who senses a vocation to a particular ministry undertake the appropriate selection process prior to beginning their studies at the Institute.

Vocational and Educational Standards. The TISEC IME Curriculum has been validated by the Church of England's Ministry Division. The academic standards of the ‘Theology for Ministry’ Course are benchmarked against those of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and Scottish Higher Education (SHE), and the course is validated by the University of Wales, Bangor.

LIBRARY

IME students can register to use the library of the International Christian College (ICC) at St James's Road in the center of Glasgow. The library has an online catalogue and operates a postal service for TISEC students. The library can be accessed via http://www.icc.ac.uk/library.php IME students who take the UWB validated 'Theology for Ministry' Course can also register for the UK Libraries Plus scheme, which enables them to make use of University libraries. Membership forms for the ICC Library and UK Plus scheme can be obtained from the TISEC office, which processes all membership applications.
